Measuring for Violin, Viola and Cello

Using a tape measure or yardstick, measure the distance between the middle of the left-hand palm and the musician’s neck. Ensure that the hand is fully extended, and the arm is perpendicular to the body. If you are in-between sizes, select the smaller size. Please refer to sizing chart.

Measuring for Bass

We generally fit bass players based on height. The hand size is also important. If the player is in a height range but has smaller hands, we suggest staying at the smaller size. As always you can ask your orchestra or private teacher! Please refer to chart.
